CESSNA SKYHAWK SP MODEL 172
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP)

Edited for use with Voice Buddy voice control and
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004

NOTAM:  SOP assumes you are beginning with a cold start at the departure gate. This aircraft's SOP have been modified for use with Flight Simulator and Voice Buddy. It must not be used for real-world flight operations.

Using Voice Buddy:  You may use voice, mouse, or keyboard controls in any combination at any time. Full access to all flight controls and instrumentation is best from the virtual cockpit view. Not all instruments that may be clicked by mouse have corresponding voice or keyboard commands. You may also issue voice commands even when the instrument panel is turned off.

  1. To start the checklist Challenge-Response dialog play back: Speak the voice command in the green box on the table below. Certain procedures have been subdivided into multiple groups (1, 2 or 3) to make those checklists easier to follow. Voice Buddy will guide you through the Challenge-Response procedures for each checklist.

  2. To issue a voice command to Flight Simulator: Speak the commands in the Voice Command column highlighted in yellow.  For best voice recognition results speak clearly and say the command exactly as written.

  3. For a complete list of all voice commands: Refer to Key Commands page of the Kneeboard for a full list of all Voice Buddy voice commands mapped to their corresponding flight control actions plus a complete listing of all cockpit announcements and other SOP dialogs.

  4. To engage the instruments interactively during the Checklist play back below: Click on the panel or use the keyboard command anytime during the Checklist play back below.

  5. To issue voice commands after the Checklist play back below: Wait until the play back is complete for each procedure group and then issue voice commands to perform the required actions.

  6. For detailed instructions on how to fly this aircraft: See the Cessna Skyhawk 172 SP aircraft information articles in the Learning Center.

  7. For suggested speeds: See the Reference page of the Kneeboard.
